When it comes to putting together a flawless event, crafting a home, or building a relationship, the details are never ignored with these Dapper Gentlemen. Keith and Erwin are a couple that pays attention to the details. Their wedding left no stone unturned; all t’s crossed and i’s dotted. Everything was picture perfect.
Keith and Erwin met seven years ago through a mutual friend. The friend thought the guys would be a match. Both said they didn’t think much of the introduction. It wasn’t until they crossed paths a year later when they realized there was a connection through social media, Facebook of all places.
In the beginning, Keith and Erwin said it was very casual, a date here and there, but nothing exclusive. Over time, their friendship blossomed. Keith and Erwin became coworkers; both worked with the government. Days and months passed, and as fate would have it, a romance sparked. It looks like that mutual friend was right all along…just saying!
Having been together for a few years, late-night chats ’til the wee hours of the morning are typical for any couple. However, one particular morning, Keith and Erwin mutually confessed their undeniable & eternally unbreakable love for each other. From that moment, they knew the joy they felt was worth committing to for life. And so, the “I Do” countdown began, ten months later, on August 29, 2020, Keith & Erwin married.
Keith & Erwin
The couple held the ceremony at the majestic Larz Anderson House in Washington, D.C. Although they originally wanted to have the ceremony at the D.C. War Memorial, a forecast for rain and two very savvy wedding planners moved this wedding to its pre-destined location. Within this historic home, it was the venue’s grand staircase and antique finishes that caught the couple’s eyes and their hearts. The Larz Anderson House is one of the capital city’s most fashionable mansions. It is the perfect gilded house, with gorgeous chandeliers to meticulous woodwork. Despite the pandemic and with social safety measures in full effect, friends and family gathered from near, forming a circle of love around Keith & Erwin. Guests were dressed to impress in their finest formal black-tie attire. The grooms wore customed tailored tuxedos but with a white jacket, making them the center of attention, and rightfully so.
Their photographer captured special moments never to be forgotten from the ceremony. Keith and Erwin were escorted down the grand staircase by their mothers. Loved ones who passed away were honored and distinctly displayed for everyone to see. Marvillous Beats played the saxophone as Keith sang one of the most romantic songs to Erwin. ‘Spend My Life with You’ by Eric Benet brought Keith’s groom to tears. As a matter of fact, some guests needed a tissue and were overcome with emotion. The ceremony included traditional touches like the exchange of vows and the jumping of the broom.
Due to the pandemic, guest restrictions made it difficult to book virtually any reception venue. That hurdle didn’t stop Keith & Erwin’s wedding planners from making their dream come alive. By looking at pictures, you probably can’t tell their reception was held at the couple’s home in Prince George’s County, Maryland. It was jaw-dropping. The house was completely transformed into a reception space. Keith and Erwin were ‘wowed’! It was a celebration from the very start. A pianist serenaded guests as they entered, grabbing a glass from the champagne wall. Cheers! Not one element was left to chance; there were even personalized cocktails at the bar. As a nod to both of the fella’s hometown, one cocktail an H-town Skittle and the other a Mebane Sweet Tea. There were even waterworks at the reception when loved ones shared touching words about the couple. Guests walked away with a picture from the photo booth to remember the experience for years to come. At every turn, there were Instagram-worthy elements like the topiary wall, grand white chairs with gold accents, and towering white and pale pink roses. Krista and Kristy of Stunning Soirees were the wedding planners who put Keith and Erwin’s nerves at ease and made this picture-perfect wedding day possible.
Congratulations to Keith and Erwin. We know your union will stand the test of time, and love can always be found in the details. Thank you for sharing your love story with the BGW Community.
